FAQ's and Disclaimers
FAQ's
Whether you are currently dealing with overseas suppliers or customers, or this is your
first dealing with international commerce, there are a few things that you need to
consider when you make the decision to manufacture or sell your product overseas.
GES understands the restraints and demands that our clients face. The constant pressure of price coupled with the
quality, Lean Manufacturing process and JIT inventory systems can make it more
than cumbersome when trying to ensure that all of your suppliers adhere to your
standards. GES adds a new dimension and choice to corporate purchasing.
What benefits can you offer our company?
GES works with you and your production facility to
determine the best system and practices. We offer a wide range of
supply-chain services including production, logistics, warehousing and
distribution. GES can become a valuable primary, secondary or tertiary supplier
when your sources are not performing at your level. We can keep your inventory on hand in our
warehouses and release it when you need it. This frees up valuable
production space while giving you the comfort knowing that your product is
sitting in a US warehouse - able to get to your facilities within a days notice.
How long does the process take? There are
many time lines to consider and depending upon the depth and scope of your
project, will determine your time lines. If you currently have drawings
and samples, it will help expedite the process, but will not guarantee a quick
turnaround. Typically, we find that it takes 3-8 weeks in the approval
process. Once approved, mass production can normally be completed within
in 2-5 weeks. The next factor to consider is your mode of
transportation. Air freight typically takes 3-5 days while ocean freight
typically takes 25-35 days. These lead times should and will be addressed
during the quotation process and need to be taken into consideration -
especially if you are running a JIT inventory system. One basic rule of
thumb, if you are looking for an expedited service to meet a production demand,
typically overseas sourcing is not a viable option.
For most programs, the time equates to
approximately
the same time frame as if you were to source a new supplier - in our experiences,
about a one fiscal quarter setup time before the system can be up and
operational, working with your systems.

What do you look for from your clients
for a quotation?
The more information the
better. We will ask that you have drawings/designs, minimum annual
quantities, target dates and target prices. GES is able to construct your
drawings/designs which can either be produced included with the quotation, or as
a separate line item.
How do overages and shortages work?
GES strives to deliver the most accurate pricing and
production runs in the world of manufacturing today. However, due to the
nature of high volume runs, your product may vary +/- 5% from your original
order quantity.
What sort of warranty do you offer?
GES warrants that all goods produced for you are free of
any security interest and will make available all warranties we receive from our
partner-manufacturer. GES offers no implied or expressed warranties of
fitness of purpose or merchantability.
Can I cancel an order?
GES cannot guarantee our ability to make changes or
cancellations to your order. GES will strive to make every effort possible
to comply with your request.
Do you always produce overseas? Do you have
minimum order quantities?
GES is different from most international contract
manufacturing companies as we look individually at each project scope.
Most short production runs will not be produced overseas and will be produced
domestically. Once an order exceeds a certain quantity and dollar amount,
the order will be sent offshore to one of our factories.
Do you do prototype development?
GES does offer assistance with prototype and invention
development. However, none of this will be performed overseas. Due
to the nature of continuous design changes, material and shipping costs, any and
all prototype development will be done domestically. You may want to
review our links for more assistance in this area.

Are duties and taxes included in my quotation?
Most of the time, GES will quote an all in price including
transportation, customs, duties and taxes. In special instances, it may be
required to include it as a separate line item. We will also ask if you
would like us to handle the transportation or if you would prefer to handle it
with your logistics department.
How does transportation work?
GES has the experience and resources to handle the entire
shipping process. If you choose to have GES handle the shipping process,
GES will utilize the best suppliers in that industry. GES will provide
estimates on pickup and delivery times along with estimated duties and taxes
based on your transportation needs. However, GES MAKES NO GUARANTEES THAT
SHIPPING ESTIMATE TIMES AND CHARGES ARE EXACT! In international
shipping, many delays can occur due to flight or sailing cancellations, customs,
acts of God, terrorism, etc. GES will handle all logistics issues to the
best of our ability. IN THE EVENT ADDITIONAL SHIPPING CHARGES ARE INCURRED
SUCH AS RANDOM CUSTOMS SEARCHES, GES WILL BILL YOUR COMPANY PROMPTLY FOR THESE
ADDITIONAL CHARGES. Please contact us today if you would like to
further discuss this information.
Can GES help us with our supply-chain initiatives?
GES offers a myriad of supply-chain solutions for your
company. We have WMS (warehouse management systems) in place in New York,
NY, Pennsylvania and Charleston, SC. We also have the capabilities
around the rest of the US and the world for whatever your scheduling demands
require. We offer contractual services for complete
supply-chain management including packaging, pick-pack operations, warehousing,
logistics, and distribution. Please contact us with your situation
requirements to discuss the best solution to your needs.
Why should we choose GES?
GES has the experience, expertise and boots on the ground
to ensure that your product is in safe hands. By dealing with our US
corporate office, you do not have to deal with 12 time zones, currencies, or
various cultural differences. In fact, many of our customers have tried to
go overseas themselves and were tired of quality issues or simply the
cross-cultural headaches. Another advantage that many of our
customers utilize is our warehousing services. Most international contract
manufacturers will require you to take a full container of product with your
order. With our warehousing service, you have the piece of mind knowing
that your inventory is only and LTL transit time away, freeing up valuable
inventory and production space at your facility.
